Public service delivery check:  Punjab CM visits Sheikhupura

Islamabad_Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities that any deserving person who comes to the free flour point should not return without flour,

While chairing a review meeting, on the supply of free flour across the country, held in Islamabad on Saturday, the PM instructed that those eligible persons who were not registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and could not get free flour, should be immediately registered. He directed that counters of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and BISP should be immediately opened at the flour distribution points.

Prime Minister said that the government is utilizing all available resources to reduce the difficulties of the poor during the holy month of Ramazan.

“Provision of free flour to needy should be ensured with the aim to lessen difficulties of people in the holy month,” he said adding that after his visits to Lahore, Kasur, and Sargodha, he will visit other cities to oversee the process for the supply of free flour and to ensure quality.

He further directed that any needy person who comes to the free flour distribution centre should be given flour and, in this regard, all relevant departments should take steps.

The meeting was told that the provision of free flour was continuing in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad and a large number of families were benefitting from the scheme.

It was told that the number of free flour distribution centres was being increased in Islamabad to facilitate people coming to obtain flour.

Federal Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Advisor to PM Ahad Cheema, former members of National Assembly Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Anjum Aqeel and officers concerned attended the meeting.

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said the scheme to supply free wheat flour to the people of the province is being increased,

He was talking to the media during his visit to a free flour point established in Sheikhupra. He said the government is providing all possible facilities to deserving people. Mohsin Naqvi also talked to the citizens who came to get free flour and mingled with them. Mohsin Naqvi took the hand of an elderly woman to the counter,He directed the deputy commissioner and commissioner of Sheikhupura to provide all possible facilities to the citizens who come to flour points. On the complaints of men and women, the CM also instructed the officials to act against hoarders and profiteers.

Later, Mohsin Naqvi visited DHQ Hospital where he reviewed the treatment facilities and enquired about the health of patients under treatment.

Mohsin Naqvi ordered the Punjab secretary of health to provide angioplasty and MR facilities to the patients visiting DHQ Hospital.
