Shalimar Express escapes mishap

Karachi-Peshawar-bound Awam Express was stopped at Juma Goth station.

KARACHI: In a close call this Monday morning, the Shalimar Express en route from Karachi to Lahore derailed near Badal Nala station.

Fortunately, all passengers on board remained unharmed, according to Pakistan Railway’s spokesperson.

The incident involved three coaches of the Shalimar Express train.

Prompt action was taken as a relief train was dispatched from Cantt Station in Karachi to assist and address the situation.

Shalimar Express up and down track has been closed after the accident.

The Khyber Mail from Karachi to Peshawar has been stopped at Jang Shahi station while Hazara Express going to Karachi, Havelian was stopped at Bin Qasim

Karachi-Peshawar-bound Awam Express was stopped at Juma Goth station.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the derailment to ensure the safety of future journeys on this route.
