Shahid Afridi Criticizes Shaheen Afridi’s Bowling Style
Former Captain Shahid Afridi Slams Son-in-Law Shaheen’s Performance
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has strongly criticized his son-in-law and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi over his bowling style during the recent T20 World Cup.
Speaking on a television program, Afridi highlighted Shaheen’s recurring mistakes in crucial overs, saying, “Shaheen has been playing for so long, yet he doesn’t seem to know where to bowl the final over. I have advised him multiple times.”
He added, “Despite repeated guidance, the mistakes persist. When bowling to right-handed batsmen, he often fails to bowl around the wicket and delivers balls inside the stumps, which is difficult to understand.”

Afridi further lamented the broader approach of some players, stating, “Our bowlers neither learn from mistakes nor do they try to improve. Some believe only one or two players are responsible for winning the match.”
Reflecting on the team’s overall cricketing mindset, the former captain said, “Our thinking is behind the world of cricket, and it is affecting performance on the field.”
