Shaheens Fall Short as Sri Lanka A Clinches Series Win, Asia Cup

Oman-(Sports Reporter): Ahan Wickramasinghe and Lahiru Udara’s impressive batting led Sri Lanka A to a seven-wicket triumph over Pakistan Shaheens at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman on Friday, dampening Pakistan’s hopes.

After choosing to bat, Pakistan Shaheens managed only 135-9 in their 20 overs. Most of the Shaheens’ batters struggled, with Omair Yousuf standing out as the sole contributor, scoring a powerful 68 off 46 balls, including five boundaries and four sixes.

Other batters, including Yasir Khan (2), Mohammad Haris (6), Qasim Akram (0), Haider Ali (14), Arafat Minhas (10), Abdul Samad (0), Abbas Afridi (9), and Mohammad Imran (13), were unable to make an impact. Sufiyan Muqeem (4) and Shahnawaz Dahani (0) remained not out.

Sri Lanka A’s bowlers performed well, with Dusan Hemantha claiming four wickets for 21 runs. Nipun Ransika (2-21) and Eshan Malinga (2-28) also took two wickets each.

Sri Lanka A chased down the target comfortably, finishing within 17 overs. Previously, Pakistan Shaheens had secured two victories in the series.
