Pakistan Bangladesh Captains Reveal Trophy Ahead Of Dhaka ODI Series

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz unveiled the trophy for the upcoming One-Day International series during a ceremony in Dhaka on Tuesday, according to 24NewsHD TV.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin their three-match ODI series on March 11 at the Sher‑e‑Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The remaining two matches will also be played at the same venue on March 13 and March 15.

Ahead of the series, Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons confirmed that experienced batter Litton Das will bat at number five. The right-hander has not played in that position since the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, and the coaching staff hopes the shift to the middle order will help him regain form in 50-over cricket.

Pakistan trains hard in Karachi before Bangladesh ODI series

For Pakistan, the tour offers an opportunity to bounce back after a disappointing performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where the team failed to reach the knockout stage. The squad includes six uncapped players as the team looks to rebuild and test new talent.

Notably, experienced batter Babar Azam has not been included in the squad. Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson said the series provides a valuable chance for emerging players to prove themselves at the international level.

Hesson described the squad as an exciting mix of fresh talent and experienced players, adding that adapting quickly to local pitch conditions will be key for Pakistan to challenge Bangladesh on their home ground.
