Abu Dhabi-Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the Best Actor award for his leading role in the film Jawan at the 2024 IIFA Awards, held on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
He was recognized for his high-energy, action-filled portrayal in Jawan, which also featured actors Deepika Padukone and Vijay Sethupathi.
While accepting the award, SRK touched the feet of renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam and warmly embraced music composer AR Rahman, a gesture that once again endeared him to his fans.
Shah Rukh Khan made his much-anticipated return to the big screen in January 2023 with Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan. In the film, SRK took on an action-packed role, impressing audiences and breaking numerous box office records, securing its place among the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema.
Pathaan marked SRK’s first major success following a four-year hiatus, which followed a series of underperforming films like Zero and Jab Harry Met Sejal.
After *Pathaan*, SRK returned to cinemas in September with *Jawan*, where he once again showcased his prowess in action roles. The film surpassed Rs 1,000 crore in global box office collections, setting new benchmarks for success. *Jawan* has captivated audiences with its thrilling plot and exceptional performances, rewriting box office history.
Released on September 7, Jawan also marked SRK’s first collaboration with director Atlee.
