Seven Indian-Sponsored Militants Killed in KP Clashes; Four Pakistani Soldiers Embrace Shahadat
In a separate operation in Chitral District, security forces neutralised another Indian-sponsored militant linked to the same group.
Rawalpindi – In a significant counter-terrorism operation, seven militants affiliated with the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al Khwarij were killed in two separate encounters with Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night of May 28–29, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The primary engagement occurred in the Shawal area of North Waziristan District, where militants attempted a coordinated assault on a security forces check post. Swift and effective retaliation by Pakistani troops thwarted the attack, resulting in the elimination of six attackers.
Tragically, the fierce exchange of fire claimed the lives of four Pakistani soldiers, including a young officer, Lieutenant Daniyal Ismail (24), a resident of Mardan, who was leading his troops from the front. The martyred personnel also include Naib Subedar Kashif Raza (42) of Chakwal, Lance Naik Fiaqat Ali (35) from Haripur, and Sepoy Muhammad Hameed (26) of Abbottabad.
In a separate operation in Chitral District, security forces neutralised another Indian-sponsored militant linked to the same group.
Following the encounters, sanitization operations are ongoing in both areas to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats.
The ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and stated that the sacrifices of the nation’s brave soldiers only strengthen the commitment to purge the country of foreign-sponsored militancy.
