Family sources and colleagues have confirmed that journalist Arshad Sharif has died in Kenya. No more details available. He was in London a few days ago after arriving in the city from Dubai.

Local police have initiated a probe and are investigating the matter, the sources said.

Before the confirmation from his wife came to the fore, some earlier reports had indicated that Sharif had died in an accident.

He specialized in investigative journalism and has covered many political events in the country for national and international news organizations, including the United Kingdom.

On 23 March 2019, he was awarded the Pride of Performance by the President Alvi for his contributions to journalism.
