Selena Gomez shares surprising wedding menu

NEW YORK: Pop star and actress Selena Gomez has lifted the lid on her unconventional wedding plans with fiancé Benny Blanco, revealing both a nostalgic dessert choice and an emotional tribute to her family.

The 33-year-old Only Murders in the Building star took to Rare Beauty’s TikTok account this week to share what she envisions for her upcoming big day — and it’s far from a traditional celebration.

“My preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy,” she confessed. “My Nana’s biscuits and gravy. That sounds like dessert to me.” The Texas native added that she’s skipping the classic multi-tiered wedding cake in favor of a small one “just for us” that she plans to freeze.

Selena, who got engaged to music producer Benny Blanco, 37, in December 2024, also noted, “Whenever that day comes, I do know I don’t want a big cake.” Her comments have delighted fans for their down-to-earth charm and sentimental value.

The couple confirmed their relationship publicly in late 2023, and Benny proposed a year later with a stunning $1 million diamond ring. In a heartwarming social media post, Selena shared a photo of the ring with the caption: “Forever starts now.”

In June, Benny appeared on Australia’s Today show, where he opened up about their relationship and their joint album, I Said I Love You First, released in March. “We just started making music in our house as a little fun activity,” he said. “Then all of a sudden we had four songs.”

Selena and Benny have also decided to do away with some wedding traditions. Gomez previously revealed she plans to skip the typical bride and groom first dance, saying she feels too shy for the moment. “They’re a little — I feel embarrassed,” she admitted during a podcast appearance on Table Manners.

However, Selena is preparing a heartfelt moment with a special dance with her grandfather, who never got the chance to walk her mother down the aisle. “I wanted to give him that opportunity,” she said.
