Advanced security measures include the deployment of Safe City smart cars and mobile jammer vehicles in the motorcade to enhance team security and surveillance.
Islamabad: In preparation for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) events in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, the Islamabad Capital Police has implemented a comprehensive security plan under the special directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, a public relations officer disclosed.
To ensure the safety of the cricket teams visiting the federal capital, security measures have been heightened, with security personnel stationed at all entry and exit points of the teams’ residential hotel. Additionally, thorough verification of hotel staff has been conducted, and additional police squads have been deployed in the vicinity of the hotel to swiftly address any law and order issues.
Advanced security measures include the deployment of Safe City smart cars and mobile jammer vehicles in the motorcade to enhance team security and surveillance. A team of police commandos armed with modern weapons will accompany the convoy to ensure security throughout their travel.
Furthermore, Islamabad Capital Police, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, will oversee route duties, while air surveillance will be conducted using modern drone cameras. To enhance security along the designated routes, Islamabad Capital Police, along with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), will conduct sweeping operations by clearing bushes from the green belts.
Search and combing operations are also scheduled to take place in slum areas near the route to preempt any potential security threats. Alternative routes will be provided to the public to ensure smooth traffic flow across the city during the events.
