Security of Pakistani citizens aboard flotilla remains govt’s foremost priority: FO
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the safety and well-being of Pakistani citizens aboard the flotilla remains the government’s foremost concern.
According to details, Pakistan has strongly condemned the Israeli action to prevent the Global Sumud Flotilla from proceeding, calling it a violation of international law. The MoFA termed the flotilla as a humanitarian mission and a symbol of global solidarity and moral resolve. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring their protection and secure return.
The MoFA spokesperson recalled that on September 16, Pakistan, along with fifteen other countries, issued a joint statement expressing concern over the security of the flotilla. He said Pakistan remains in contact with its international partners to secure the release of hostages and is actively working towards their safe return.
The spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan does not recognise Israel and is in communication with allied countries to ensure the safety of its citizens involved in the flotilla.
