Five Militants Killed In Intelligence Operation In Lakki Marwat

RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) – Security forces killed five militants linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the operation was carried out on March 15 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the area.

The military’s media wing said troops engaged the militants’ hideout during the operation. After an intense exchange of gunfire, five militants were killed.

Security personnel also recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants, who were reportedly involved in several attacks in the region.

The ISPR added that a sanitisation operation is continuing to ensure that any remaining militants are cleared from the area. The operation is part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism campaign being conducted under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam.

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their efforts to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
