Security Forces Kill Eight Terrorists in Failed Infiltration Attempt Along Pak-Afghan Border

Pakistan Urges Afghanistan for Better Border Control to Combat Terrorism

RAWALPINDI: In a major counterterrorism operation, Pakistan’s security forces killed eight terrorists while thwarting their infiltration attempt through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the general area of Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District, on Sunday night.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, and after an intense exchange of fire, eight militants were neutralized while four others were injured. The statement referred to the terrorists as “Khwarij,” a term commonly used for foreign militants operating in the region.

Pakistan has consistently urged the Interim Afghan Government to ensure better border management and prevent the use of Afghan soil by terrorists who engage in acts of terrorism against Pakistan. The ISPR statement highlighted that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to securing the nation’s borders and ridding the country of the threat posed by terrorism.

“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area,” the statement further read, reaffirming the security forces’ resolve to protect Pakistan from cross-border terrorism.
