Security forces kill 13 India-backed terrorists during KP intelligence operations

Pakistan's security forces intensify crackdown as India-backed and Afghan-linked militancy continues to threaten lives across KP and border regions.

KP – (Web Desk) – Pakistani security forces shot and killed 13 militants linked to India during two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing ISPR confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the statement, both operations were launched after credible intelligence reports flagged the presence of armed militants in the Bara area of Khyber District and in Bannu District.

In the Bara operation, troops tracked down the militants’ hideout and engaged them in a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in the death of 10 militants on the spot.

A separate operation carried out in Bannu District successfully eliminated three more militants, bringing the total death toll to 13.

The ISPR further stated that clearance operations are still underway in the affected areas to hunt down any remaining India-sponsored militants hiding in the region.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, known as “Azm-e-Istehkam”, vowing to continue operations at full force until foreign-backed terrorism is completely rooted out from Pakistani soil.

Amid the rising terror incidents, Pakistan launched “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq”, during which around 684 Afghan Taliban operatives and affiliated militants were killed.

More than 900 Afghan Taliban operatives have also been injured, while Pakistan has destroyed 252 checkposts, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed today.

The two countries, back in October 2025, were also engaged in border clashes after the Afghan Taliban and militants launched unprovoked attacks against Pakistan’s border posts.

The resulting clashes led to the killing of over 200 Taliban and affiliated militants, while 23 Pakistani soldiers were martyred defending the motherland.

However, despite many rounds of talks, both countries failed to reach an agreement due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s reluctance to take action against terrorist outfits.
