Security Forces Kill 11 Indian-Backed Terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations
Security forces have killed 11 Indian proxy terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operations were conducted on January 8, 2026, following reports of terrorist presence in Kurram and North Waziristan districts. In North Waziristan, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation during which troops effectively engaged a terrorist hideout. After an intense exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed.
In a separate joint intelligence-based operation in Kurram district, security forces and police engaged another group of terrorists. Five terrorists were neutralised during the ensuing firefight.
ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed Indian-sponsored khwarij, who were involved in multiple terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
Sanitisation operations are ongoing in both areas to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored kharji. ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
