Security Forces Target Terrorists in KP Amid Surge in Attacks

RAWALPINDI – In a major success for Pakistan’s security forces, six terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.

The operation, conducted following intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the area, saw troops effectively engage the terrorists’ location. An intense exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the elimination of six terrorists.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the success of the operation, noting that a sanitisation operation is currently underway to ensure no other terrorists remain in the area. The army remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating terrorism and maintaining peace throughout the country.

In recent weeks, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has witnessed a surge in terrorist activities, prompting Pakistan’s security forces to carry out several targeted intelligence-based operations. On February 17, a similar operation in South Waziristan led to the killing of 30 terrorists, further underlining the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism.

The ISPR previously reported on the February 17 operation in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan, where security forces successfully engaged and eliminated 30 terrorists.
