Security Forces Eliminate Eight Militants in North Waziristan Operation

Security Forces Foil Militant Movement in Border Operation

PESHAWAR: (Web Desk) – Security forces have eliminated eight terrorists backed by India during a fierce exchange of fire in North Waziristan, a district located along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan.

According to a statement released by ISPR on Thursday, security personnel detected the movement of a group of militants near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on April 1, 2026. Acting swiftly, Pakistan Army troops engaged the group in a targeted operation.

As a result of the precise and coordinated action, all eight militants—identified as members of the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khwarij—were killed. A cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the site.

The operation, officials say, once again highlights Pakistan’s concerns over ineffective border control on the Afghan side. Authorities have urged the Afghan Taliban government to take responsibility and prevent the use of its territory for militant activities against Pakistan.

Pakistan’s security forces reiterated their firm commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders and maintaining national security.

A follow-up clearance operation is currently underway to ensure no remaining militants are present in the area. Officials emphasized that counter-terrorism efforts under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy will continue with full determination to eliminate foreign-backed threats.
