Security deployed at Sheikh Rashid’s residence has been withdraw

Rawalpindi: (Staff Reporter) Security deployed at the residence of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has been withdrawn, it is learnt. The veteran politician is a trusted ally of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) since it came into power in 2018. He has served as federal minister for railways and interior minister during the Imran Khan-led government.

Earlier, police officials performed duties round the clock at the former interior minister’s residence, Lal Haveli. The reason for removing the security from Sheikh Rashid’s residence is not clear as the authorities have yet to give a statement about the decision.
