Second Monkeypox Case Reported at Nishtar Hospital in 2026

Multan: (Web Desk) – A new case of monkeypox has been reported in South Punjab, with the infection confirmed in a patient undergoing treatment at Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

According to hospital sources, the patient, a 20-year-old resident of Muzaffargarh, is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is stated to be in critical condition. Hospital officials also confirmed that the patient has tested positive for HIV/AIDS.

This is the second monkeypox case reported at Nishtar Hospital in 2026, a hospital spokesperson said. Following the confirmation, the hospital administration has further tightened isolation protocols and safety measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Health authorities stated that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being strictly enforced, while contact tracing has been initiated to identify and monitor individuals who may have been exposed.
