As Lahore’s Air Quality Index (AQI) hits 150, the government has decided to adjust school timings to safeguard children and the elderly from the detrimental effects of smog.

Starting from October 28 until January 31, 2025, schools in Lahore will not begin classes before 8 a.m., and all outdoor activities will be suspended to minimize children’s exposure to polluted air.
Students will be required to gather indoors, and officials have encouraged the public to take protective measures, such as wearing masks and regularly checking daily AQI levels via the Environment Protection Department app.
