Schools Extend Summer Vacations to August 31

The Punjab School Education Department has officially extended the summer vacation for all public and private schools across the province, bringing much-needed relief to students and parents.

According to a new notification issued on August 7, 2025, the summer holidays—originally scheduled to end earlier—will now continue from August 14 to August 31, 2025. All schools will reopen on Monday, September 1, 2025, with full academic activities resuming as planned.

This extension has been approved by the Competent Authority and follows the department’s earlier notification dated May 20, 2025. The revised schedule applies to all institutions under the Punjab School Education Department, and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs) have been instructed to ensure strict implementation.

Clarifying Fake News About Vacation Extension

The decision comes just a day after the department had to address a fake notification spreading online, falsely claiming that the summer break had been extended. At that time, the School Education Department had denied any such decision and warned the public against trusting unofficial sources.

Now, with the official August 7 notification, all doubts have been cleared—summer vacations are officially extended until August 31, 2025.
