Regional Ministers Meet in Riyadh Over Escalating Iran Crisis

RIYADH: (Web Desk) – In Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a high-level coordination meeting with the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt on the sidelines of a consultative session of Arab and Islamic nations.

The meeting included Ishaq Dar, Badr Abdelatty, and Hakan Fidan, who discussed the escalating situation involving Iran and stressed the need for continued coordination to maintain regional peace and stability.

Saudi officials noted that discussions focused on Iran’s military escalation and the importance of joint diplomatic efforts to prevent further deterioration. Prince Faisal earlier warned that Saudi Arabia reserves the right to respond if necessary, cautioning that continued escalation could have serious political and moral consequences.

The regional tensions have intensified since strikes on February 28, with retaliatory missile and drone attacks affecting multiple countries, including Qatar. Qatar reported attacks on energy facilities in Ras Laffan, though authorities confirmed that fires were contained and no casualties occurred.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump commented on the situation via social media, attributing recent strikes to Israel and warning of severe consequences if further attacks target Qatar.

The meeting underscored growing concerns among regional powers and highlighted the urgent need for diplomatic engagement to de-escalate tensions and safeguard energy infrastructure in the Gulf.
