Saudi interest in electric cars soars to 40 percent ahead of auto show
Explore new electric cars, charging systems, and Saudi Arabia's growing electric vehicle market at the EV Auto Show.
KSA – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Fourth EV Auto Show in Riyadh is set for October 27-29 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event will shine a light on new electric car models, local production, and special training programs for jobs in the auto industry.
Interest in electric cars is soaring in Saudi Arabia. New studies show that 40% of Saudi drivers are now thinking about buying an electric vehicle in the next year. This is a huge jump from just two years ago.
The show will host over 120 companies from 35 countries. They will display the newest electric and plug-in hybrid cars. A major attraction will be the first look in Saudi Arabia at the ROX ADAMAS, a luxury SUV built for all terrains. Lucid Motors will also present its new Gravity SUV.
This year’s event focuses on the entire system needed for electric cars to thrive. This includes local manufacturing, building more charging stations, and training a skilled workforce. Lucid Motors, which has a factory in King Abdullah Economic City, will show its cars. This facility aims to build up to 155,000 vehicles each year.
The National Automotive and Vehicles Academy (NAVA) will also be present. Started in 2024, NAVA works with companies like Ceer and Lucid to train Saudis for careers in the electric vehicle industry.
Visitors can see a wide range of electric cars from brands like BYD, Tesla, and Chery. Companies that build charging stations will show new, super-fast charging systems. Saudi Arabia’s network already has over 200 public charging spots, with plans for many more.
KSA provides a $1B oil facility and $5 billion deposits to Pakistan.
A conference at the event will feature experts talking about the rules, technology, and infrastructure for electric vehicles. They will discuss how to grow the charging network, ways to finance new cars, and battery tech that works well in the local heat.
The show has grown significantly, with 12,000 visitors expected this year. The number of companies showing their products is up by more than 20%. The Saudi electric car market is predicted to grow rapidly, reaching $15.8 billion by 2030.
Attendees can test drive the newest electric cars, see the latest charging technology, and meet with car makers and experts. The event will also host talks on building a strong and lasting electric car market in the Kingdom.
