Saudi Consul Calls Pakistan ‘Closest Friend’ Amid Growing Cooperation

POEPA Leaders Meet Saudi Consul to Strengthen Pak-Saudi Ties

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Chairman of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA), Syed Rehmat Ali Shah, along with leader Shakeel Abbasi, met with Saudi Consul Dr. Hamad bin Maher Al-Atawi in a cordial meeting to discuss bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, POEPA leaders praised the outstanding services of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan and highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries, describing Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as “two bodies, one soul.” They also acknowledged the efforts of Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki in strengthening relations between the two nations.

They noted that Saudi Arabia hosts the largest Pakistani workforce abroad and called the kingdom a benefactor for Pakistan, emphasizing that the Saudi Consulate has been providing strong support, helping millions of Pakistani families sustain their livelihoods. The POEPA officials further stated that overseas Pakistanis are true benefactors of the country and expressed their commitment to facilitating increased employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia.

In response, Saudi Consul Dr. Hamad bin Tahir reiterated that Pakistan is Saudi Arabia’s closest friend and pointed to the recent bilateral defense agreement as proof of the growing strength of the Pak-Saudi friendship. He added that the consulate’s doors are always open and expressed a desire to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
