Saudi Arabia Allows Visitors to Open Bank Accounts Using Visitor ID

RIYADH: In a significant move aimed at enhancing the experience of international visitors, Saudi Arabia has now allowed visitors to open bank accounts within the Kingdom. The Saudi Central Bank has announced that, under updated banking regulations, banks can now open accounts using a “Visitor ID” issued by the Ministry of Interior.
The Visitor ID is considered an official identification document for individuals entering the Kingdom and can be verified through authorized digital platforms.

This decision is expected to enable banks to onboard new customers more efficiently and improve the overall experience for visitors during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
