Abdul Qadir’s Son Salman Arrested Over Rape Allegations
LAHORE – Salman Qadir, son of former Pakistan Test cricket legend Abdul Qadir, has been arrested following allegations of rape made by a housemaid. Police confirmed that a case has been registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code at Burki police station.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant alleged that Salman Qadir contacted her and asked her to report for work on an urgent basis. Upon arriving at the housing society gate, she claimed she was forced into a car and taken to a farmhouse, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted. Police said the case was registered on the victim’s complaint, after which the accused was taken into custody.

Authorities stated that the victim has been sent for a medical examination as part of standard legal procedure, while statements are being recorded and evidence collected. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the facts of the case.
Police added that Salman Qadir has denied the allegations and claimed innocence, saying that further legal proceedings will continue in accordance with Pakistan’s criminal law. Salman Qadir is reported to run a cricket academy in Lahore, a detail that has sparked public concern among parents and the wider community.
The case has also drawn significant media attention due to his association with the late Abdul Qadir, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated cricketers. Officials emphasized that the matter will be investigated strictly on legal merit.
