Egypt took control early as Omar Marmoush and Ramy Rabia found the net, giving their side a strong advantage. However, an own goal by Ahmed Aboul-Fetouh before half-time allowed Ivory Coast back into the match. Shortly after the restart, Salah restored Egypt’s two-goal cushion with a composed finish. Ivory Coast mounted a late comeback attempt through Guela Doue, but Egypt held firm to secure their place in the semi-finals.
