ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has congratulated Pakistani opener Sahibzada Farhan for winning the ICC Player of the Month award for February 2026.
In his message, Mohsin Naqvi described the achievement as a proud moment for Pakistan, praising Farhan’s dedication, hard work, and professional attitude. He expressed confidence that the talented batter would continue to deliver strong performances and bring more accolades to the country.
The award was announced by the International Cricket Council, with Farhan beating nominees Will Jacks and Shadley van Schalwyk based on his outstanding performances during the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Despite Pakistan’s early exit from the Super 8 stage, Farhan emerged as one of the tournament’s standout performers. He made history by becoming the first player to score multiple centuries in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
He also set a new record for the highest partnership in the tournament’s history, scoring 176 runs alongside Fakhar Zaman. Additionally, Farhan surpassed Virat Kohli’s previous record for most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition by 64 runs, underlining his remarkable consistency.
Reacting to the award, Farhan expressed his joy, calling it a special achievement to perform on the global stage. He credited his teammates for their unwavering support and vowed to maintain his form in upcoming matches and tournaments.
