ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – In Islamabad, Albert P. Khorev stated that Russia is willing to supply affordable oil to Pakistan if Islamabad formally initiates contact.
Speaking at a press conference, the ambassador emphasized that the energy sector remains a key pillar of cooperation between Pakistan and Russia. He noted that while he is not currently aware of any formal request from Pakistan, Moscow stands ready to offer oil at competitive rates if approached.
Khorev also commented on broader regional tensions, particularly involving Iran. He said Iran’s recent actions were directed at US military installations in the Gulf region and described the overall situation in the Middle East as uncertain and complex.

Referring to Donald Trump’s policies, the ambassador remarked that the world remains surprised by recent military developments, adding that it is difficult to predict how or when the current tensions will subside.
He strongly condemned an attack on a girls’ school in Iran that reportedly killed 170 children, calling it deeply tragic and unacceptable. Khorev urged all parties to avoid the use of force and resolve disputes through diplomatic channels in line with the UN Charter.
The ambassador further criticized the actions of the United States and Israel, saying their use of force has escalated the crisis and could destabilize the region further. He also warned that such developments risk deepening divisions within the Muslim world.
