Rupee Experiences Volatility Against Dollar at Week’s Close
The rupee saw fluctuations against the dollar at the end of the business week, influenced by increased remittances and the disbursement of International Monetary Fund (IMF) funds.
Currency traders observed that although the rupee weakened, the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) efforts to purchase dollars from the market helped prevent a further decline in the value of the Greenback.
According to the weekly report, the dollar’s value in the open market dropped by 25 paisas, closing at Rs280.59. However, in the interbank market, the dollar gained 12 paisas, ending the week at Rs277.64.
Dealers anticipate ongoing volatility in the currency market as the rupee reacts to external financial inflows and government actions.
