Ruling coalition decides to not allow PTI’s long march to enter Islamabad
Islamabad;(Mudasser Chuhdary )_The ruling coalition partners have evolved a consensus that general elections will be held on time and no pressure will be accepted for snap polls.
They expressed this resolve at a consultative meeting of the leaders of the allied parties in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting while it was attended by JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, ruling coalition leaders, and federal ministers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif consulted with the leaders of allied parties extensively over the important issues amid the worsening economic situation and mounting pressure from the PTI for early elections.
Federal Minister of Interior Rana Sanaullah briefed about the internal situation of the country in the meeting. He also talked about Imran Khan’s long march and the preparations of the government. The meeting also briefed about the cipher, audio leaks, and other related issues.
Rana Sana also informed the participants about the negotiations and demands of the farmers.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar gave a briefing about the country’s economy. He briefed the participants about the prices of petroleum products and the value of the rupee against the dollar. The coalition partners expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the finance minister. The government’s reputation has improved after the petroleum products decline and the fall of the dollar, they said.
During the meeting, a briefing was given by the Pakistan People’s Party on the recent flood situation. The leaders expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the federal and Sindh governments regarding the floods in the meeting.
The Prime Minister also informed about the communication with the Foreign Minister, and also prayed for the health and safety of the former President in the meeting.The members discussed the strategy regarding the joint session and by-elections. The Prime Minister took the allies into confidence in the decisions of the federal cabinet on the audio leaks and cipher issue. They vowed to continue to take the issues of cipher and audio leaks to the logical end.
The participants reiterated their support for the federal government to thwart any attempt to invade Islamabad. They mooted measures to fend off Imran Khan’s threat to march towards Islamabad. The allied parties also ponder over the appointment of the army chief and mandated the prime minister to seal the fate. The meeting decided to continue endeavors to revive the economy and steps to keep political stability.
The participants of the meeting vowed that any attempt to destabilize the country politically and economically will be foiled at any cost. They also gave free hand to federal Minister Rana Sanaullah in this regard. They strongly condemn the baseless propaganda and social media campaign against the Pakistan Army in the meeting. They said that Imran Khan had gone crazy in his lust for power and targeted the state institutions and defense leadership.
