Riyadh Metro announces ticket prices ahead of launch

Tickets can be conveniently purchased through the Darb app, which allows passengers to plan their journeys and select their destinations.

RIYADH: The Riyadh Metro has unveiled its ticket pricing structure, with fares starting from as low as 4 Saudi Riyals (SR), making the metro a convenient and affordable option for commuters. The metro, which is set to officially begin operations on December 1, offers a variety of ticket options to cater to different travel needs.

For those seeking a more premium experience, first-class tickets are also available. The pricing for the two classes—Standard and First Class—is as follows:

Standard Class:

  • Two-hour pass: SR4
  • Three-day pass: SR20
  • Seven-day pass: SR40
  • Thirty-day pass: SR140

First Class:

  • Two-hour pass: SR10
  • Three-day pass: SR50
  • Seven-day pass: SR100
  • Thirty-day pass: SR350

Tickets can be conveniently purchased through the Darb app, which allows passengers to plan their journeys and select their destinations. The passes provide unlimited access to both the metro and bus networks throughout their validity period.

Inaugurated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on November 27, the Riyadh Metro is a major transportation project that spans 176 kilometers and features six lines with 85 stations, including four key hubs: King Abdullah Financial District, STC, Qasr Al Hokm, and Western Station. The metro is integrated with the Riyadh Bus Project, providing a seamless public transport experience across the city.

The metro will be rolled out in phases, starting with the Blue Line (1), Yellow Line (4), and Purple Line (6) on December 1. The Red Line (2) and Green Line (5) are scheduled to begin service on December 15, while the Orange Line (3) will launch on January 5, 2025.
