Report Claims Trump Sought Secret Greenland Attack Plan
British Report Says Trump Ordered Secret Plan to Seize Greenland
Islamabad (Web Desk) – A British media report has claimed that former US President Donald Trump once asked senior military officials to secretly prepare a plan for a possible attack and takeover of Greenland, a move that reportedly met strong resistance from America’s top commanders. According to the report, Trump instructed the Joint Special Operations Command, the US military’s elite covert force, to develop a rapid operational plan targeting the Arctic territory.
The alleged directive reportedly caused serious concern within the highest levels of the US armed forces. Senior generals and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are said to have rejected the idea, describing it as illegal, unrealistic and potentially destabilising for global security. They reportedly warned that such an action would not gain congressional approval and could severely damage relations within NATO, as Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The report further claimed that military leaders attempted to redirect Trump toward less controversial options, including countering Russia’s alleged “ghost ships” in international waters or exploring pressure tactics against Iran. The claims reflect longstanding reports of friction between Trump and his national security team over the use of military power and unconventional foreign policy ideas.

Neither the White House nor US defence officials have commented on the report, leaving the scale and seriousness of the alleged planning unclear. However, analysts say the claims have reignited debate about decision-making within the administration and its often tense relationship with senior military leadership.
