Kashmir—Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Record-breaking rain has caused terrible floods in Kashmir. This is the worst flooding the area has seen in over fifty years. A huge amount of water fell in just one day, breaking all previous records.

The powerful floodwaters washed away bridges, roads, and homes. Sadly, at least 41 people have lost their lives. Thousands more have had to leave their homes to find safety.

Phone and internet services are down, and all schools are closed. So far, rescue teams have moved nearly 10,000 people to safer ground away from the flood zones.

The bad weather has also affected other regions in North India. Places like Himachal Pradesh and Punjab are also dealing with serious flooding in low-lying areas.
