KARACHI: The Sindh Excise Department successfully auctioned off special vehicle number plates, with the highest bid reaching an unprecedented Rs. 10 crore. The auction, which featured 40 exclusive plates, amassed a total of Rs. 67.54 million, marking a significant milestone in revenue collection.
Among the highlights, Plate No. 1 claimed the top spot with a remarkable bid. Plate No. 8 fetched Rs. 10 lakh, while Plate No. 9 was acquired for Rs. 400,000, adding to the excitement of the auction.
Addressing attendees, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon announced that proceeds from the auction would be dedicated to constructing 2,251 houses for flood victims. He also hinted at an upcoming second phase of the auction, expected to further bolster resources for ongoing reconstruction efforts.
