Reasons for fuel and diesel price increase disclosed

A complete strike halts life in Azad Kashmir amid a communication blackout and public frustration over demands.

Pakistan – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The reasons behind the latest increase in petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan have been revealed. According to an official document, the price hike is mainly due to an increase in freight margin and customs duty, while other levies have been maintained.

Daily routines were completely disrupted. In Muzaffarabad, markets, businesses, and transport services were all shut down. Roads that are usually busy were empty and quiet. Even though schools were officially open, very few students showed up for class.

For the second day in a row, people faced a major communication breakdown. Internet and mobile phone services were off, and in a rare move, landline phones were also disconnected. This left residents feeling cut off from each other and the world.

NCCIA will re-question Imran Khan over active X accounts.

The strike was organised by the Public Action Committee, which has a list of 38 requests. Their main goals include changing how some government seats are filled and stopping special benefits for powerful groups. The group also plans to hold a large rally to strengthen their protest movement.
