Ready for elections, pledge to elect Nawaz for fourth time as PM: Shehbaz

LAHORE: President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif has declared that the party is gearing up for the upcoming elections and expressed the commitment to elect Nawaz Sharif as the Prime Minister for the fourth time. Addressing the parliamentary board meeting of the PML-N on Wednesday, Shahbaz Sharif outlined the vision for the party, emphasizing a renewed era of progress and prosperity for the country.
Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the challenges faced during the past five years, referring to it as a “storm of inflation.” He pledged to work alongside Nawaz Sharif and the entire party to alleviate the economic burden, stating, “For the reduction of inflation, Nawaz Sharif and we all will work together.”
Speaking at the parliamentary board session on Wednesday, Shahbaz Sharif credited Nawaz Sharif for empowering Pakistan with nuclear capabilities, recalling a $5 billion offer for conducting an atomic explosion in response to India’s nuclear tests. However, he emphasized that Nawaz Sharif declined the offer in the best interest of Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif reminisced about the period from 2013 to 2017, citing various development projects and initiatives that contributed to progress and prosperity throughout the country. He particularly mentioned the visit of the Chinese President to Pakistan in 2013, acknowledging the subsequent sit-ins and protests as a challenge overcome.
The PML-N leader reiterated that Nawaz Sharif’s leadership had brought tremendous benefits to the nation, especially in terms of strengthening Pakistan’s strategic capabilities and promoting economic growth. The party aims to build on this legacy in the upcoming elections, focusing on a platform of development, stability, and improved economic conditions.
