RDA Orders Strict Action Against Illegal Housing Schemes
Commissioner Directs Legal Action Against Unapproved Housing Projects in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – The Commissioner of Rawalpindi and Engineer Amir Khattak, Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), has issued a stern directive to take strict action against illegal housing schemes across the district.
The RDA has warned the public to exercise caution and verify the approval status of any housing project before investing. Authorities emphasized that unapproved schemes established in Rawalpindi, Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta will face legal consequences.
Individuals or groups running housing schemes without proper authorization will be served show-cause notices and may face FIRs, sealing of properties, and even demolition. Additionally, cases involving illegal advertisements and financial irregularities will be forwarded to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing for investigation.

The RDA specifically cautioned overseas Pakistanis and other investors that applications pending approval or filed without proper documentation will not be considered. Investments in unapproved schemes will be made entirely at the buyer’s own risk, with the RDA disclaiming any responsibility.
Authorities appealed to the public to consult the official RDA website to verify the approval status of any housing project before making financial commitments.
