Rawalpindi Board Announces New Date for Canceled Inter Paper

RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has canceled the HSSC Part-I History of Islam paper after students protested that the exam included out-of-syllabus questions.

Students across several centres reported that the content did not match their prescribed syllabus, prompting immediate concerns. Examiners alerted the board during the exam, and BISE quickly decided to cancel the paper to protect students’ academic interests.

According to BISE spokesperson Arslan Cheema, the decision was taken to maintain fairness and the smooth conduct of the exam process.

The paper will now be held on Tuesday, June 17, in the first group, at the same centres and under the same roll numbers.

New roll number slips for regular candidates have been uploaded to their schools’ portals. Private candidates can access their slips on the BISE website and will also receive them by post. However, previously issued slips will remain valid.

Students are advised to reach centres on time and carry their roll number slips.

The board’s swift action has been acknowledged by students, though the incident has sparked renewed concerns about exam oversight and syllabus compliance.
