Rawalpindi Announces Two Public Holidays
The announcement was made through an official order issued on Tuesday.
RAWALPINDI: The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, has declared a local holiday across Rawalpindi district for August 13, 2025. The announcement was made through an official order issued on Tuesday.
According to the notification, the decision was taken under the authority granted by the Services and General Administration Department, Government of Punjab. While the holiday will apply to most offices and institutions in the district, all departments and authorities responsible for emergency services will continue to operate as usual.
Copies of the order have been sent to the Chief Secretary Punjab, the Secretary to the Chief Minister, the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, the Regional Police Officer, the City Police Officer, all Assistant Commissioners in Rawalpindi, and heads of relevant departments to ensure proper implementation.
Earlier, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration had also announced a local holiday for August 13 as well.

It is also important to note that August 14, 2025, will be a nationwide public holiday in celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day. As a result, residents of both Rawalpindi and Islamabad will benefit from two consecutive days off on August 13 and 14.
