Rathore Calls for Political Stability, Rejects Protests, Supports Dialogue-Based Solutions

AJK PM Faisal Mumtaz Rathore Emphasizes Public Relief, Stability and Fast-Track Development

Muzaffarabad – Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that despite inheriting challenging conditions, his government has taken decisive steps to address public issues, ensure political stability, and accelerate development.

In a special interview, he stated that Asif Ali Zardari and the party leadership accepted responsibility during a difficult political phase to restore public confidence and stability. He noted that the government immediately began addressing public concerns and implementing agreements made with stakeholders, while also restoring direct public engagement.

The Prime Minister emphasized that issues should be resolved through dialogue and political processes rather than protests and agitation. He reiterated that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands, while legitimate public demands would be addressed.

He also announced a major agriculture conference on April 20 aimed at promoting self-reliance and strengthening the local economy, adding that progress is ongoing on pending matters, including refugee seats.

Separately, chairing a high-level development review meeting in Muzaffarabad, the Prime Minister directed all departments to ensure 100 percent utilization of development funds and timely completion of projects to avoid cost escalations.

Key projects reviewed included the Jagran Hydropower Project Phase-II, the Legislative Assembly building, Rathua Haryam Bridge, and other infrastructure initiatives. Departments were instructed to ensure full utilization of funds by April 22.

Furthermore, the Cabinet Development Committee approved 44 development projects worth over Rs. 34.85 billion, covering sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, IT, energy, and food.

Major decisions included approval of 30 kilometers of roads per constituency, establishment of IT Excellence Centers to create employment opportunities, construction of grid stations, food storage facilities, and additional classrooms in educational institutions.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the government’s priority is to provide basic facilities, create employment opportunities, and transform Azad Kashmir into a peaceful and developed region.
