Randhawa Orders Rapid Development in New Islamabad Sectors with Focus on Quality
Diplomatic Enclave Infrastructure and Security Upgrades Planned
ISLAMABAD – Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has directed expedited progress on key infrastructure projects across Islamabad’s developing sectors, while emphasizing that quality and standards must not be compromised.
Chairing a high-level meeting at CDA Headquarters on Monday, Randhawa reviewed the ongoing development work in sectors C-14, C-15, C-16, E-12, and I-12. Senior CDA officials including Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, and Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafiz were present.
Randhawa stressed the establishment of camp offices at construction sites to facilitate real-time public engagement and faster complaint resolution. He reiterated that residents should be able to raise concerns directly at project sites for efficient grievance handling.
Key directives issued during the meeting included:
•Upgraded street lighting
•Improved road infrastructure
•Widening of main entry points
•Immediate removal of illegal encroachments
The chairman praised the recent commercial plot auction, calling it a “historic success” that has significantly strengthened the CDA’s financial position. He instructed the Finance Wing to allocate adequate funds to ensure timely completion of development projects.
“Our objective is clear: to make Islamabad a model capital with modern infrastructure and transparent service delivery,” Randhawa said. “We will utilize every available resource to fulfill the housing and infrastructure needs of our citizens.”
Development Push in Diplomatic Enclave
In a separate session, Randhawa chaired a comprehensive review meeting on the uplift of the Diplomatic Enclave, aligning with the vision of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The meeting focused on:
•Beautification and landscaping
•Eco-friendly tree plantation
•Road improvements and modern LED lighting
•Efficient parking zones
•Installation of high-resolution CCTV cameras at entry/exit points
•Integration with the Safe City monitoring system
To enhance community engagement, Randhawa also directed the construction of a sports complex, cycling track, event hall, food courts, and modern kiosks to better serve both residents and international visitors.
He emphasized that eco-sustainability would be central to the redesign, with local tree plantations intended to make the enclave Islamabad’s most scenic and secure zone.
Randhawa’s firm directives reflect a renewed push by the CDA to deliver large-scale, people-centric development projects with transparency and accountability. With improved planning, enhanced civic infrastructure, and citizen-first service models, Islamabad is poised to emerge as a world-class, livable, and sustainable capital city.
