Rana Sanaullah Warns PTI Founder’s Sons of Arrest if They Join Protest Movement

“If they come and take part in the party’s political movement, they will face arrest,” he cautioned.

Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has issued a strong warning to the sons of the PTI founder, stating they will face arrest if they participate in the party’s protest movement in Pakistan.

Speaking exclusively on a private news channel, Rana Sanaullah said that the PTI founder’s sons are British citizens and have no understanding of Pakistan’s internal political landscape. He questioned the purpose of bringing them into the country, suggesting it would only complicate matters for them.

“If they come and take part in the party’s political movement, they will face arrest,” he cautioned.

Rana Sanaullah criticized PTI’s history of protests, alleging that their demonstrations often turn violent and involve attacks on state institutions and public property. He firmly stated that such acts would not be allowed under the pretext of political protest.

He dismissed PTI’s claim of peaceful protest, asserting that the party’s actual aim is to incite unrest and vandalism. “PTI has never shown willingness to follow democratic norms,” he said, adding that any dialogue with the party would only be possible if it adopts a democratic and peaceful approach.

Highlighting the government’s stance, Sanaullah said the state cannot be held hostage by a few thousand people in a country of 250 million. He confirmed that PTI has announced a protest movement starting on August 5, and warned that the government will take legal action in response, if necessary.

He reiterated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remains committed to resolving political matters through dialogue, but stressed that this is only possible with parties that respect the rule of law and democratic principles.
