Rajab Butt, Nadeem challenge travel bans in IHC

Legal controversies continue as Rajab Butt files IHC petition

ISLAMABAD: Rajab Butt and Nadeem Nani Wala have filed petitions in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the travel bans imposed on them.

Represented by counsels Barrister Qadeer Janjua and Ahad Khokhar, the petitioners have named the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the interior secretary, and other relevant authorities as respondents, requesting the court direct the removal of their names from the travel restriction list.

Rajab Butt has been in the spotlight due to multiple legal controversies. He was reportedly attacked by a group of lawyers at Karachi City Courts last month following allegations that he made derogatory remarks about the legal fraternity, leading to an FIR describing the incident as a “brutal and premeditated physical assault.” He is also facing a blasphemy case, with proceedings adjourned until February 10.

In addition, Butt has been booked by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for allegedly promoting illegal online gambling apps, and faced backlash over a perfume brand named “295,” which allegedly sparked religious controversy. In December 2024, he was arrested for keeping an undocumented lion cub and unlicensed weapons at his residence.

Nadeem Nani Wala has also faced legal action, including an NCCIA case related to gambling promotions and an arrest in September 2025 for allegedly using a fake vehicle registration number.
