Rain Disrupts Second Test Between India and Bangladesh
KANPUR – The second day of India’s second Test against Bangladesh was completely called off due to persistent rain, with no play taking place on Saturday in Kanpur.
Intermittent rainfall and a damp outfield had already limited play to just 35 overs on Friday, and the start of the second day was also delayed by poor weather conditions.
As the rain continued to disrupt the game, the umpires decided to cancel play, leaving Bangladesh at 107-3 in their first innings as they sought to level the series.
While the forecast suggests a slight improvement in weather conditions on Sunday, the significant time lost to rain casts a shadow over the match, making a draw increasingly likely.
India, having won the first Test in Chennai by 280 runs, only needs a draw to secure their 18th consecutive Test series victory at home, extending their record.
