Rain Snowfall and Landslide Alerts Issued Across Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – A new rain-bearing weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing widespread rain and snowfall to multiple regions across the country, according to the Meteorological Department.
Authorities have issued landslide warnings for upper areas as rain and snowfall are expected to continue through tomorrow.
Islamabad may experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms during the night, while several districts of Sindh including Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu are also likely to receive rainfall. Heavy snowfall is forecast for northern areas such as Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla and parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Balochistan.
Strong Western System Brings Cold Wave, Rain
In Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, snowfall has disrupted road conditions, prompting alerts from disaster management authorities. The PDMA has deployed heavy machinery on key highways and advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel as emergency response teams remain on high alert.
