Quetta Unrest: Family Stages Dharna, School Van Abducted Amid Strike
Quetta-A shutter-down strike is currently underway in Quetta city, prompted by the non-recovery of young student painter Khan Kakar. The strike, called by Anjuman-e-Tajeran, has gained support from various political parties, who are demanding the safe return of the student.
The situation has caused significant disruptions, with family members of Muswar Khan staging a dharna at Ittihad Chowk, affecting traffic flow and causing difficulties for citizens. Adding to the concern, a school van was abducted in the area.
Nasrullah Zere, a former MPA Quetta, expressed concerns for his safety, holding DC Quetta responsible if anything happens to him, during a statement in Balochistan High Court.
This strike is not an isolated incident, as Quetta has experienced similar shutter-down strikes in the past, including a recent three-day strike that paralyzed normal life in vast areas of Balochistan. The city’s main bazaars and commercial centers, including Liaquat, have been closed in support of the strike
