Punjab to Digitally Monitor School Inspection Staff
The initiative aims to prevent fake or desk-based inspection reports.
ISLAMABAD: In a major move to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in school inspections, the Punjab government has introduced a new system to monitor the real-time location of monitoring officers through GPS tracking.
The Program Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PMIU) has signed an agreement with a private telecom company to provide internet services. Under this agreement, all Monitoring and Evaluation Assistants (MEAs) will receive free SIM cards equipped with internet data packages.

These SIMs will allow the authorities to track the online activities and exact locations of the officers during school inspections. When an officer visits a school, their GPS location will be recorded to verify their physical presence at the site.
The initiative aims to prevent fake or desk-based inspection reports. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against any officer found submitting false reports without conducting actual visits.
