Lahore (Web Desk) – Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that all educational institutions across the province will reopen on April 1.
In his statement, the minister clarified that schools will remain closed until March 31 for scheduled holidays and will resume regular classes the next day. He also dismissed circulating rumors about an extension of holidays, advising parents to ignore unverified information.

Earlier, on March 9, the Punjab government ordered a temporary shutdown of educational institutions due to economic pressures linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The decision was taken under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
As part of the measure, all schools, colleges, and universities remained closed from March 10 to March 31. However, institutions were allowed to continue online classes, and examinations proceeded as scheduled.
The closures were influenced by rising petroleum prices caused by disruptions in global fuel supply chains. Pakistan, like many other countries, has been affected by supply issues linked to the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments.
