Punjab Police Gears Up for Crackdown on PTI Before Lahore Rally

Focus on Apprehending Suspects from Past Incidents

Islamabad-Police have developed an action plan in anticipation of a potential Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for September 21 in Lahore.

Officers have tasked all Station House Officers (SHOs) with apprehending the remaining suspects linked to the events of May 9. Divisional Superintendents of Police (SPs) will supervise this crackdown to ensure effective implementation.

Additionally, the police have outlined their strategy for the upcoming rally. Authorities indicate that a final security decision will be made once the location for the event is confirmed.

PTI and Federal Government Engage Jamaat-e-Islami Leadership

Security personnel will be deployed once permission is granted by the district administration. The entry points of the potential rally venue will be monitored by cameras to ensure safety.

Police officials have stated that officers stationed at these entry gates will be equipped with photographs and information on the wanted suspects from the May 9 incidents. This proactive measure aims to enhance security and facilitate the swift identification of any individuals involved in past disturbances. The police are committed to maintaining order during the event while ensuring that all necessary precautions are in place to manage the situation effectively.
